Nicky Gnome warns Cinderella that she must get home from the ball by midnight. To prevent this, her evil stepsisters have a wicked witch send high winds, rain, and other inclement weather to delay Cinderella’s journey. However, Cinderella easily beats the clock in her new coach, driving home in time to meet the Prince, who has tracked her to her home with a bloodhound.

Superman: Mechanical Monsters (1941)

As the headline on the Daily Planet tells the public: “Mechanical Monster loots bank!” In fact, a scientist has an army of these flying robots able to steal anything in sight. Police are set up everywhere to guard an exhibition of rare jewels, but it’s no use. When a robot crashes into the building, it steals all the precious stones in sight, while the policemen’s bullets harm it no more than flies. Clark and Lois are at the exhibit. While Clark phones in the story from a booth, Lois stows away in the robot’s compartment. Clark sees that Lois has gone missing and decides to change into Superman there in the phone booth. Superman follows the monster, while his X-ray vision allows him to spot Lois inside. His attempt to get Lois out fails. The robot knocks him onto some power lines, losing the jewelry and (nearly) Lois in the process. The robot returns to the scientist’s hideout with Lois, but no jewelry. She refuses to tell the scientist where it is. He retaliates by tying her up and setting her on a platform over a pot of boiling metal. The platform slowly descends, as Superman breaks in. But he’ll have to fight the scientist’s entire army of robots to save the day.

Betty Boop for President (1932)

Betty runs for the office of President against Mr. Nobody. Both candidates state their platform through song and dance, referring to political issues of the time. Not long after this cartoon was released, Herbert Hoover was defeated by Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1932 presidential election.

Betty is the cleaner a the local courthouse. On the bus ride to work one day, she grows tired of all the liberties her fellow citizens take. She falls asleep and dreams about what she’d do if she were the judge. Among her decrees: a thoughtless smoker learns about second-hand smoke the hard way, and an obnoxious celebrity impersonator is rewarded by having his ears blasted with imitations of Tarzan and the Shadow.

After sending his giant bird, Rokh, to wreck Popeye’s boat and kidnap Olive Oyl, Sindbad forces Olive to dance for him by firing buckshot at her feet with a pea-shooter. Popeye attempts to rescue her while J. Wellington Wimpy follows a duck around with a meat-grinder. After Popeye disposes of Rokh and Sindbad’s two-headed, Yiddish-accented giant, Boola, it’s a battle to the “finich” between the two legendary sailors.

Popeye the Sailor Meets Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp (1939)

The story of Aladdin is portrayed by Popeye and Olive Oyl here. It all begins when an evil sorcerer coaxes Aladdin (Popeye) to a dangerous cave to retrieve the magic lamp. When he retrieves the lamp, the sorcerer tries to trap Aladdin in the cave, but drops the lamp in first. When the lamp is rubbed, a magic genie pops out and grants Aladdin a wish of being a prince to fall in love with the beautiful princess (Olive Oyl). But now the evil sorcerer has kidnapped the princess and sends evil monsters after Aladdin, but with the help of his spinach power, he can put the trouble right.
